        1)  Strategic Directions
Making Decisions with Confidence - Strategy, Capabilities, People
             Roger Wright, Nibiru
Mike Bragagnolo, Active Burgess Mould and Design
(invited)
( sister company to Northstar Aerospace )

The OAC’s ‘Strategic Directions’ initiative provides Ontario aerospace companies with a
structured, adaptable ‘strategy development’ method specifically suited for small and
medium-sized firms that enables SME management to decide how they can transform
         their business.

At the conclusion of their short, focused ‘strategy development’ process (5 days over a
10 week period), SME managers have decided on a few strategic priorities and several
specific actions they can put into motion immediately.  Often, ‘people’ decisions –
developing, hiring, re-assigning, replacing – are among the first priorities for action, and
         often at the management level.

Going forward, company managers, guided by their “vision, value and advantage”
perspectives, can make decisions with confidence about how to move ahead with their
         transformation.
What are the best improvement investments they should make? What
positions do they need to fill next? What new customers should they target?

Through this proven ‘Strategic Directions’ process, SME management can see how to
align their company capabilities and their people to transform their business and realize
         their vision for their company.

        2) Lean Design  - Speed to Market
Sandy Munro, President, Lean Design Canada, CEO Munro & Associates
Dan Cheeseman, Sr. Engineering Director, Raytheon Missile Systems

Lean Design and Design Profit is both a methodology and a tool that reduces costs,
speeds up production time and predicts and removes quality and defect issues before
they are realized in production.  Unlike Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma, Lean Design
helps to solve Manufacturing and Assembly issues at the design phase.  It also
predicts and provides a company with all business metrics for a new design or redesign
in the design phase so that a solid business case can be provided to management and
finance. Applications of Lean Design and Design Profit typically produce a 30%
        reduction in total accounted cost
.

In this presentation Sandy Munro, president of Munro & Associates and Lean Design
Canada, will provide real world examples of Lean Design applications at Cirrus Aircraft,
Boeing, Airbus and is joined by Dan Cheeseman, Senior Engineer at Raytheon, to
discuss Lean Design’s success at Raytheon.

        3) Lean Manufacturing - Slashing Cycle Times
Larry Fitzgerald, Site General Manager, Honeywell

        Why Lean?

Lean Thinking is the philosophy of continuous improvement that quickly identifies and
eliminates workplace waste and ineffectiveness.  Lean has become the most effective
        vehicle to world-class performance.

Some of the Benefits of Lean Training:

          ·         Better Workflow... reducing the number of steps required to do a task,
boosting   productivity while reducing worker fatigue.

          ·         More Rapid & Smoother Equipment Changeovers... enables production lines to
get back in action sooner, increasing your economic output and improving
       worker safety.

         ·         Reduce Waste... saving you money by eliminating MUDA (unnecessary waste),
creating more efficient processes, faster response times and greater customer
value, all while delivering better returns to your bottom line!

Networking Reception: 5:15 to 6:45 p.m.

AGM Dinner: 6:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
